Notice is herbey given that Longparish CC have applied for permission to construct an Ark.

Following repeated bouts of global warming Longparish CC have applied to the ECB for an “It’s too wet to play cricket” grant to cover 50% of the construction costs of an ark. It is hoped that the vessel will be of sufficient size to accommodate two opening batsmen, two opening bowlers, two tea ladies, two umpires, two scorers and so on and so forth. The remaining construction costs should be covered by the few hundred pounds we have on the cricket force account at “Build Center” plus any bits of wood laying about the ground.

Construction should be completed by the end of next week with an informal launch and sea trials at the weekend. Please could all members make an effort to attend  trials as there may be a few difficult decisions to make, but John Young should be a “shoe in” for the Noah role as he goes sailing a lot.
