Longparish Cricket Club News story

Longparish CC Fantasy Cricket week 9 now online (down a bit on the left hand side)

06 Jul 2012

Despite weather wreaking havoc with the fixture list, fantasy cricket pints are still being earned. George Kousseff took a couple of catches in the garden, Adam Lister executed a string of perfect pull shots in his kitchen swatting flies to score significant points and six midnight dashes for the loo count as a maiden for one elderly bowler.

In the briefest blink of an eye that balls were actually bowled Tim Oram's hat trick shook things up a bit as did Barry Blackmore's runs at Liphook. James Young has bowled a few overs and is still great value along with U15 Ollie Coetzee. Justin Jackman remains the leading 2nd XI batter just ahead of Michael Taplin who hit fifty the other week and Alex Coetzee and Matt Jackman have bags of points as Longparish 1st XI all rounders.

In the league, It's tight at the top as the number one spot swings between several teams and is heavily influenced by how well George is doing in the garden. With just under half the season remaining the title chase is wide open, In the current climatic conditions we may never play cricket outdoors again so if you think you've scored fantasy cricket points at home, let Ray know, that dive to the right to catch an egg falling from the fridge could make all the difference.
