Great weekend for Clarkie as cricket is on again

Chris Clarke and Matt Jackman picked up wickets on both days and Paul Blackmore and William de Cani hit runs as Longparish got their league campaign off to a winning start with an impressive performance at South Wilts. Blackmore hit 50, de Cani 63 and Adam Lister 30 in the Longparish total of 204 that proved 64 runs too far for South Wilts III as Clarke took 4 for 17 and Jackman 3 for 26. Clarke and Jackman picked up wickets the following day as Longparish took on Bramshaw in the 1st round of the National Village Cup competition. Clarke taking 5 for 32 and Jackman 4 for 36 as Bramshaw were dimissed for 133. Paul Blackmore hit 30 at the top of the order along with de Cani 37 as Longparish looked to be cruisinhg albeit slowly, to a win but a middle order collpase caused a few flutters that were eased by a 35 run partnership for the 8th wicket between Justin Jackman and that man Clarke to see Longparish through to the next round.
