November 2017
Thought Piece
Seers, Sayers
and Wikipedia teach us that November is the eleventh month in both the Julian
and Gregorian calendars.
Spies, police
control room operators and numerous telesales people have it as a code word for
the letter N.
www.foreverconscious.com
trumpet the sacred vibrations that are emitted by a month gifted eleventh place
in the queue of months. Www.crystal winds concur and speak fondly of the spirit
of Venus while Tony Hyland (Tony Hyland
Psychic Services - www.tonyhyland.com) predicts a month that encapsulates the
animal spirit of the dolphin, full of compassion, discretion and generosity.
Dolphins are
discrete.....Who knew?.
Whatever your
November experience it's happening right now,
It's November
everyone.

LCC Survey
Has once again been returned by ECB and Clubmark wallahs
citing inadequacy despite several completed questionnaires being delivered to
the LCC data analysis department.
An item called a theodolite must now be sourced along with
the requisite amount of high viz which we are told will aid us in meeting ECB requirements
for a club survey.
Christmas Draw
May be brim full of baubles and tinsel, a colouring
competition in December or a festive form of duelling at the OK Corral.
We don't know.
A Christmas draw is many things to many people.
To Longparish Cricket Club it comes under the banner of
fund raising and people will soon be moving among us peddling tickets that gift
the purchaser the opportunity of winning some life changing prizes (list to follow)
The draw will be held on Wednesday 13th December at 7.30pm
when the final Hundred Club Draw will also take place with several Big Cash
Prizes! Everybody welcome on the night for Christmas and Cricket based
conversation and the drawing of the balls. Just don't bring any guns or
colouring equipment because when we say "drawing the balls" we mean
pulling numbered balls out of a bag to generate a winner of a prize not the
pictorial depiction of balls.
I don't know why I found it necessary to explain how a
raffle works there but I hope you now understand the course events will take on
the night.
If you have a prize for the Christmas Draw please let
Madam Sec know julieasturt@aol.com
Hundred
Club Draw - November
Thank you to everyone who wrote in with their font
of first choice to herald the winners of this month's hundred club draw.
A Mr Omar Sharif of Alexandria, Egypt writes.
For some years I was exiled from my native Egypt
due to a burgeoning relationship with Barbara Streisand that began during the
filming of Funny Girl. Ok the bridge was good in exile, yes the horse racing and come on Hull City but
my heart longed for the land of my birth.
The internet had yet to be invented and while the Blue Peter annual
promised Hover Shoes, Jet packs and Phones without cords none had yet
materialised, so each week I would write to my mother on paper that I crafted
from layers of wet reed in the manner of my illustrious ancestors. The font
Papyrus always serves as a reminder of those years in exile in Europe and my
paper making activity in order to touch base with home.
The flame
for Barbara eventually died. If memory serves she went off with Dustin Hoffman
or possibly Rock Hudson while I was at some such casino or other.......which
wasn't so funny girl.
Hey Omar, I'm a bagel on a plate full of Onion
Rolls, Life's Candy and the Sun's a Ball
of Butter.
