Match report Longparish won the toss and batted first against unbeaten league leaders Bishops Waltham, and the omens weren't great when they lost their first wicket 13 balls into the innings. U16 Billy Mead who lives a pull shot away from the Longparish ground and William de Cani who lives a little further on, put on 78 for the 2nd wicket before de Cani departed for 30. Mead batted on brilliantly, completing his first century for Longparish and was unbeaten on 114 as Longparish closed on 212 for 6 with Sam Medhurst the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 17 from 10 overs.
U15 Scott Sturt opened the bowling for Longparish and took some tap from the big hitting Baldock before he was caught on the boundary for 28. Andy Wakeley looked to be guiding his side to victory but was dismissed by Harry Martin for 64. Ben Gardner picked up 3 quick wickets, Matt Jackman took 2 and Sam Trinder bowled a miserly seven overs for only 16 runs as a magnificent display in the field kept the game on a knife edge. Alex Coetzee bowled the final over with Bishops Waltham needing 5 for the win with 2 wickets remaining but a brilliant piece of bowling conceded only 3 runs and also produced 2 wickets to clinch a 1 run win for Longparish in a thrilling game of cricket
