Match report Kingsclere batted first in this rain affected tie, and were indebted to a superb knock by opener Brian Hardy who hit an unbeaten 90, However wickets fell at the other end to some mature bowling by a young Longparish II attack. U16 Ollie Coetzee opened the bowling and took 2 for 36 from 9 overs and U14s Jamie Blackmore and Dan Bearpark both went for less than four an over as Kingsclere found scoring diificult. Ollie Lee, another product of the successful Longparish Colts machine returned from University to take 4 for 53 as Kingsclere closed on 169 for 7.

Sums were done at tea and it was deemed that Longparish II should chase 149 from 34 overs due to an earlier break for rain. In-form opener Gary Taplin departed early in the piece and skipper Warren Bonathan got in and then got out for 15, so step up the Colts. Andy Roberts, another returning from University spanked 21, but U13 Scott Sturt demonstrated his class as he mixed quick singles with big hits as wickets fell at the other end before finally falling himself for a run a ball 45, leaving U14 Jamie Blackmore to strike a single from the last ball of the match to secure a tie.
