Match report Purbrook II won the toss and on a wicket that had sweated under covers for 48 hours, had no hesitation in inviting Longparish to bat. U16s William de Cani and Alex Coetzee put on 49 for the first wicket in decidedly bowler friendly conditions before Coetzee departed for an elegant 23. de Cani was joined at the crease by Ed Gairdner and the pair added 55 for the 2nd wicket before de Cani was caught behind for 40, Gairdner batting on superbly to 63 before suffering the same fate. Martin Bearpark hit late runs for Longparish and was dismissed for 40 as Longparish closed on an over par 233 for 7.
Purbrook lost early wickets and found scoring difficult against some miserly bowling by Chris Clarke, but remained "in the game" as Longparish shelled six catches. Holder and G McCoy looked to be chasing down the target before the introduction of "in form" Ross Stewart who ripped through the Purbrook II middle order to take 6 for 36. J McCoy batted superbly at the bottom of the Purbrook II batting order and the was the final wicket to fall for 37 as Longparish won by 55 runs.
