Warren Bonathan's Longparish III side secured promotion for the second successive year in the Winchester Leagues with a stunning win over Winchester University. Longparish III posted 102 for 4 with Matt Paice unbeaten on 27, Jack Tosdevine on 16 and Bonathan and Gary Taplin adding 15 each. In reply Winchester looked to be cruising to victory before the introduction of Ben Gardner who picked up 3 for 9 from his 3 overs. With only one stump to aim at Jack Tosdevine ran out the last man off the bowling of Michael Taplin to secure victory for Longparish III by 7 runs.
Bishops Waltham were beaten in the game on the other court leaving Longparish III runners up to Hursley Park and promoted for the second season in succession. With the night still young it was all back to Bonathan's for Champagne and Beer and plans laid for an open top tour of the city.
